This is just too fantastic. What an amazing magical quilt or shawl it would make!! You really are the bes knees at these:-)

  • owlspook replied

thank you so much jenny (smile) ... I used to design quilts but never made but a few … I have so much fun doing it . just never any time to do the quilts .. and I have such a problem with focusing to finish a large project … would love someday for others to take my designs and bring them to life (big smile) ... I realized that what I love the most is the designing and not the doing (grin) so I’m doing my best to focus …. there is a site called spoonflower that will take one’s designs and print them into fabric … can’t afford my own work (sigh) ... I’m hoping they would become a POD site (print on demand) that would allow us to have our own fabric gallery … think I read that in the future they might … would be cool … but then they’re asking for TIFF LAB to save the designs so the colors stay truer .. alas none of my programs will save as lab … PS does but don’t have the cash for that … they’ll do jpg but don’t guarantee color (sigh) .. so I put that project lower down on my todo list (sigh) ...

oh here I am rambling this morning … designs of all kinds are my passion … this includes kaleidoscopic images and fractals … guess it goes along with my love of patterns in nature and math (smile) ....

thank you jenny for the encouragement you give me (big smile) and I really am pleased that you enjoy my work (big smile)

Beautiful owlspook! I love the series – have I said that before?! These colors are delicious, the design is awesome. Good work!

  • owlspook replied

more to come … just can’t stop making them (big grin) .... you just don’t know how pleased I am that you enjoy seeing them .. oh ya it would be fun (and very helpful to the budget) to sell a few prints now and then but it tickles my heart when my friends here on RB really enjoy viewing them (big big smile) thank you Jen (big smile)

Thanks for your very interesting reply owlspook. There is always that little matter of money to stop us doing what we really want – to see a project through to the end, dash it all. I wanted to have one of my fractal designs put on a roller blind for my kitchen window. There are a few Companies which will do this over here, but it would cost nearly £200..00 which I haven’t got. Life is frustrating at times. I wish I could help you and everyone who wants to take their Art further:-(
In the meantime we just have to cut our cloth according to the pattern don’t we?

  • owlspook replied

I know I’m not alone .. sorry to hear about the cost of the rollar blinds! yikes! ... yup it is frustrating but thankfully we have RB and can share our work with each other (big smile) ...

I don’t know how you did this, but it’s really lovely and intricate.

  • owlspook replied

give ya a hint .. in PaintShopPro v7 did effect weave (also in Gimp it can be done) and then the kaleidoscope effect plus numerous other effects etc. ...

I’m pleased you enjoy it Jill .. thank you (big smile)

Great philosophical observation jenny – I think that may become my mantra…....... we just have to cut our cloth according to the pattern….......

gotta love the RB such wonderful people here!

  • owlspook replied

so true Jen … but it doesn’t mean that we can’t strive to do a new pattern (big smile)

Oooh, okay. Wondered if you used kaleidoscope. I have PSP 10. Probably much the same. Thanks.

  • owlspook replied

don’t know about 10 only used the 7 series of PSP … kaleidoscopes are so much easier done as an effect rather than by hand! (grin) .. cool now will I see some kaleidoscopes of yours? (smile)
