first off .. no snow it’s been in the high 60’s low 70’s!! a bit of late summer .. soon to change … by end of week a chance of rain/snow and temps in the 40’s (dang … just getting used to the nice weather again (grin)) ... well it can’t last forever …

I didn’t think I could either .. this started out as a photo of a woodpile (grin) .. then I used PSP to do the kaleidoscope work .. then I painted out what I didn’t want of the image .. then I saved it and went to gimp where I removed all the black in the image .. then I copied the image only and pasted it into a new file that had a transparent background layer and saved it … hope this helps?

so happy you like it (big smile) .. and my weekend? ... lousy sick with a head cold and nose won’t stop running … (ugh) .. missed two days of work so far and that hurts too .. scheduled to work on monday .. not sure if I’ll be better by then but hope so…

Spirits of the Wood, tell me where you are
Around the next hill, or in the mountains away so far.
I need you to guide me through my life
    Where demons are always near
To give me strength and courage
and to help me not to fear.

    In Beauty may you walk.
All day long may you walk.
Through the returning seasons may you walk.
On the trail marked with pollen may you walk.
With grasshoppers about your feet may you walk.
With dew about your feet may you walk.

    With Beauty may you walk.
With Beauty before you, may you walk.
With Beauty behind you, may you walk.
With Beauty above you, may you walk.
With Beauty below you, may you walk.
With Beauty all around you, may you walk.

In old age wandering on a trail of Beauty,
    lively, may you walk.
In old age wandering on a trail of Beauty,
    living again, may you walk.
    It is finished in Beauty.
    It is finished in Beauty.

this is a dine prayer (navajo) .. it is one that touches my soul … and what is beauty to the dine? “In beauty we walk: The spirituality of the Navajo Indians”: http://franciscans.org.uk/1999sep-pamelaclarecsf.html give this good explanation …

    (begin quote)
At the heart of the Navajo Way is the concept of harmony, the need to be in right relationship. This concept is often translated as ‘Beauty’ in English. The proper state of the universe is harmony, balance, and equilibrium. Opposites are always present: bad/good, male/female, Mother Earth/Father Sky. These opposites complement each other and are needed for equilibrium. When everything is in harmony, there is good. When things get out of kilter, there is evil. So when illness or bad luck strike, there is some underlying disharmony which must be put to right.
