An unexpected spell of warmth in mid-January breaks up the frozen surface of Parker River Salt Pannes and sunset pours gold over a winter marshland. But once the sun falls below the horizon, it is neither day nor night. It is time for magic… time for the wonder of pure light to eclipse the distractions of day and reach deep into the heart of sky, land and observer.

During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

I just have never enough of the beautiful skies you share with us. this view is really beautiful too. you are so spoiled by nature!

  • Manon, once again you fill me with great pride, joy and friendship! And you are right, I’m completely in love with Nature and try to indulge as much as possible. But since I live in the middle of concrete and brick, I look to the skies most as human development cannot dim the glorious light of sun and sky at play. And when I’m lucky enough to visit a wide open landscape filled with nothing but Nature… well, as you’ve seen, I fill my heart and memory card with images! ;-) Thank you Manon!!!

WOW this is beautiful!!!! Stunning colour, love it :))))))))))

  • Thank you Vicki! It’s moments like this that make me wonder why people who gather to watch the sun set, leave as soon as it slips below the horizon. For the that’s when the real show begins… Thrilled to enjoy the rest of the sun’s performance with you. ;-) …Sylvia
