Winter trees along the Assabet River by

December’s snow, melted by a few warm days in early January, seeps into barren woods and gently flows along the riverbank to join the Assabet River.
This is the view looking upriver on a bridge I cross often. But always on the other side, looking down river. A few simple steps across the road and I’m rewarded by a new perspective and peaceful view.

During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

    Description by Owed to Nature

December’s snow, melted by a few warm days in early January, seeps into barren woods and gently flows along the riverbank to join the Concord River.

  • Update: Originally thought this was the Concord River, but it is actually the Assabet which flows under Main Street in West Concord
This is the view looking upriver on a bridge I cross often. But always on the other side, looking down river. A few simple steps across the road and I’m rewarded by a new perspective and peaceful view.

love the reflections and colours xx

  • Thank you Lynn! I’ve walked this bridge countless times… but always on the other side of the road looking down river. Decided to cross the street yesterday and loved the view up river. Same but different… and lead me to try a different treatment too. So pleased you like the results!

    Gorgeous scene Sylvia! Love it!!!

  • Thank you Kent! I’m always on the lookout for scenes filled by Nature not the bustling city and town life that surrounds. So to my surprise, decided to cross busy Main Street in West Concord and found this view upriver so much more peaceful than the downriver scene I usually see. ;-)
