During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

wow! this is beautiful and so intense! I love desert… a great place for meditation without a bunch of mosquitoes around me. lol
your picture is simply amazing. you knew just what angle would give the best for my eyes. a post card shot ;)

  • Oh thank you Manon! Your comments are such a treat to receive and enjoy!! Had been to Monument Valley before but this was my first visit with a Navajo guide. What a privilege… He took us to places you can’t go to on your own and it was his lifetime relationship with the land that knew where and when to take us to fully take in the magic of place and light. It affirmed my love of the desert too. Though no mosquitoes, did run into swarms of biting gnats that may not bite as much but they’re more annoyingly in your face and hair! But honestly, small price to pay to experience such a special place.

very cool POV, I love this!

  • I’d never seen this view from this angle before. There is nothing like seeing the landscape unfold while your boots softly sink into the sand… So glad you like it Darcy!

It’s like looking at another world, great shot xx

  • Thanks Lynn! I loved getting to walk through the sand here and arrive at this point of view. Never would have been able to without our Navajo guide. So in many ways, it was like seeing it through his eyes and the lens of another way of life.

Wow, what a stunning place and shot – gorgeous colours and contrasts.

  • Monument Valley is a spectacular place. Been there twice before and third time is definitely the charm! Went with a Navajo guide this time who revealed to us such magic and wonder in the desert sands. Thank you Kasia for such lovely comments and fave!
