He bows his head to a stiff wind and enjoys a stretch. I know he’s a wild mustang not a unicorn but, for me, he’s just as magical.

This is one of the cremello colts I admired in Kent Keller’s spectacular photographs last year. As I enjoyed each image Kent uploaded from the Great Basin, a wish was made, a trip planned and last month, a dream came true. In a month filled with amazing moments in the Desert West, our day spent wandering with Kent among the herd of 100+ wild horses he befriends, rises to the top. I mean after all, how often do you get to meet and photograph mythical legends?

During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

  • Oh Darcy, you are REALLY far too kind. And you’ve made me blush big time! ;-) Really hope you get the chance to meet Kent. I know you’d love spending the day with him and his horses. Just remember to bring lots of memory cards and batteries as the landscape and animals inspires and let’s loose the photographer in you! So glad I can share my memories with you until then. Thank You Darcy for your wonderful comments!

    Beautiful horse xx

  • Thank you Lynn. I’ve admired this horse in Kent’s portfolio since this first upload of him as a colt last year. Never thought I’d have the privilege of seeing him for myself. No surprise, he’s even more beautiful in person.

    My Dear OTN:
