The full moon in April is called the Pink Moon.
As the moon of April 6 2012 peaks over the horizon in Boston, it squeezes in between skyscrapers to reveal a Pink Moon glowing like gold against a clear navy blue sky. Yet the rising of the Pink Moon lives up to its name thanks to the lingering rays of the day’s sunset which add just enough warm glow to reflect pink from highrise windows.

During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

    gorgeous xx

  • Many Thanks Lynn! Always great fun to wait by the river at dusk on the full moon and try to guess just where the moon will peak out. Then of course, it’s a mad dash as I scamper to get into the right position and camera settings. Ah the wonders and humor of Nature! ;-)

    Wonderful capture!!!! :))))))))))))))))))))

  • Thank you so much Vicki! In the city I often miss the early moonrise behind tall buildings. I too was so happy to catch it at the right time at the right place for a change. ;-) …Sylvia

This is fabulous especially with that moon!!

  • Thank you Lorilee. This was such an exciting and lucky find. I swear in the zoom of the lens could see the moon moving. And sure enough, in a matter of moments it was hiding behind tall buildings. So pleased to catch and share it and know you enjoyed it too!

    Really nice shot!

  • Thank you Jeannine! Just love those moments of dusk, with light suspended between day and night. So whenever the moon made such a grand appearance… took my breath away. So glad you enjoyed this too. ;-) …Sylvia
