Artist's Description

A male lion (Panthera leo) in his prime, majestic and powerful standing guard over his prey.
A classic image from the African savanna, presented here in classic black & white.

This is a monochromatic version of King of beasts.
Warning: only view the color original if you are not offended by images of natural predation. The reality and brutality of life in the wild is graphically visible in color where the lion’s kill – a wildebeest carcass – is prominently and vividly seen in the grass at the lion’s feet.

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Shot using: Canon EOS Digital Rebel (the original!)
Canon EF75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM lens

Converted to Black & white with Adobe Photoshop
