The feverish hand of a setting sun sends ripples of brilliant color reflecting in the pond of Concord Greene. For this image, the original shot is flipped upside-down to show an abstract of dark tree silhouettes set afire by the bold brushstrokes of light reflected from the water’s surface.

Concord, Massachusetts USA
Shot using: Canon 5D Mark II
Canon EF28-135 f/3.5-5.6L IS USM lens
Only post-processing is basic contrast, color enhancements with Adobe Lightroom and Lo-Fi

During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

    fantastic image xx

  • Happy you like this one Lynn. Was a bit of a surprise. Glorious colors but the view to the sky didn’t make for a nice composition but the pond reflections captivated me. When I turned it upside down on my computer, suddenly, there was the view I felt. Nature and Photography never cease to amaze me. ;-)

    interesting abstract

  • Thank you John! One of those “surprise” images that you don’t know you have until you review things later. Rather different for me so glad to hear you enjoy it.
