Never enough snow for a polar by

Ursus maritimus, Cape Churchill, Wapusk National Park, Manitoba, Canada

50% of my profits from sales of all Cape Churchill images will be donated to Polar Bears International.

Polar bears love snow. The only thing they love more is more snow… and sea ice. So while the waters off Cape Churchill aren’t quite frozen enough for him, this guy thoroughly immerses himself in as much snow as he can find.

More of his fun in the snow can be seen in the Yoga Bear calendar where he is the star performer. You can also find all images of this guy, by using this link to Yoga Bear images.

Shot using:
Canon EOS Digital Rebel (the original!)
Canon EF75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM lens

The World As We See It Or as we missed it Fun Shot December 2012

During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

He is diving roght into the snow, what a delightful capture ;o))

  • Thank you Esther. Delightful is a great word to describe this bear. He actually dove into the snow 3 times, each time diving deeper than before, happily struggling to roll himself out and play with the snow as he went. I just had to put shots of his antics into a calendar. Hope you’ll take a look and enjoy!
