During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

Can I have an Irish Coffee please!
  • Maybe just the coffee. He’s probably had more than his fair share of the Irish already!

wow look at him/she, showing of and posing for you

  • I usually find that wild animals don’t pay much attention to people or their cameras. This guy is certainly the exception to that. You’re right, I do believe he not only posed for us but really enjoyed doing so! Thank you Elaine.

Beautiful shot. From the cool look on his face, I think the Yogi’s thinking “Oooo, lunch has a camera.” And my Canon Digital Rebel failed at +20 degrees F, the only time I depended on it in the cold. -J:

  • Thank you for wonderful comments Jay! Though sad to hear your Rebel didn’t fare as well with the cold. I don’t know what I would have done had mine failed below 20F that was at best the highest temp during that entire adventure! Great conditions for these magnificent creatures but rather challenging for us mere mortals and our gadgets! ;-) …Sylvia
