Heading back to our campsite in the northeast corner of the Serengeti in Tanzania, a small flicker of movement in the grass catches our attention. We move in for a closer look and find the curious twin faces of lion cubs (Panthera leo), inseparably posed, just as intently looking at us as we are looking at them.

During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

Such a special capture. Just wonderful. Instant fave.

  • Thank you Joycee. Jealous you live in Perth. Visited there years ago. Loved Western Australia. That was in the days of film… guess I need to go back with my digital camera and lots of memory cards!

Oh my goodness this is just such a wonderful image – superb.

  • That’s especially high praise coming from a Big Cat to such a little cat! ;-)
I’m inspired by your passion and support for wild cats and WHF. Hope you get to see one of your cats in the wild too. Such a gift learning how wild creatures carve a living on Nature’s terms. Makes your respect and passion for them skyrocket.

    This is gold!

  • Thanks. Wish I could take complete credit for this shot. But it’s really those 2 little ones with their big expressions who should take the bow. I feel so fortunate when wild creatures like this let me share their world.
