Acinonyx jubatus
Atop a rock kopje in the plains of the Serengeti, a cheetah mother stays alert so her two young cubs can relax and soak in the African sun.

On a personal note… Cheetah is my favorite animal. And this was taken in my favorite place – the Gol Kopjes of The Serengeti. It was my first private safari, my first digital camera, my first time seeing little cheetah cubs. We spent 2 hours with them, basking in the glow of pure African sun. Memories forever framed and treasured in my memory. This moment stays the clearest of them all. I still feel the blood rush through my heart as Mom slowly raised herself to scan the vast horizon. A slight breeze blows and we relax… All is right with the world.

During an unexpected chance to experience Africa, a seed was planted. Nurtured by subsequent forays into wild places, this photographer was born.

Jacques Cousteau said “People protect what they love.” And we’ve all heard that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, enough with this. My photography says the rest. Thanks for listening.

MY CHEETAH’S… Love this!!! I petted a Cheetah and that was the most awesome day I had!!! great capture :-)

  • I’m SO envious. Cheetahs are my favorite animal. Normally I wouldn’t think of disturbing a wild animal but cheetahs are so special – and the cubs are just so precious – I’ve always wanted to pet one, just once. Have never gotten the chance. I can just imaging how amazing that must have been for you! So nice to hear you like these guys’ picture. It was my most awesome day. In the Serengeti, first time to see little cubs and we watched them play, nap and play for at least 2 hours. Heaven… ;-)
Thanks for your comments and fav.
