Bandhavgarh National Park in India has the highest density of Bengal tigers known in the world. Bandhavgarh was declared a national park in 1968, with an area of 105 km², a new park at a historic site with carvings, temples and a large fort at its center. It contains a wide variety of habitats and a high density of animals including nilgai, chitals, wild boars, jackals, macaques, langurs and a large number of bird species.
