On my way home to Ohio from Pennsylvania, my friend and I decided to take a little detour to visit the Flight 93 Memorial.
This hit me just like the Oklahoma City Bombing memorial did. It hit me hard.
Innocent people flying from one end of the country to the other, all for very different reasons.
All of those lives, lost. All of their potential, gone. The passengers were Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers, Grandparents, infants, toddlers, young children, teenagers, sports teams celebrating a huge victory. Doctors on their way across the country to offer their expertise to fellow hospitals. Kids on their way home from visiting their Grandparents…. Ugh…. the list goes on and on.
The families try desperately to make sense of such a horrific event. It will never make sense. Not ever.
I don’t think that I said one word for hours after visiting the memorial.
