As we grow older and wiser and more experienced in life and love, it is one of the most challenging things to overcome our childhood conditioning as we learn to modify our automatic responses to external circumstances.
It is not always about wanting to be loved, or wanting to be right, or wanting to right a wrong, but often simply wanting things to be right, to be pono.
And it isn’t about who is right or who is wrong.
It is about understanding and tolerance and kindness and most of all respect. Respect is one of the most fundamentally important elements in all relationships.
It is important to be mindful and present in the moment, here in the now, as we accept our kuleana, our responsibility for our words and actions.
We should not make assumptions or assume responsibility for the actions of someone else or internalise their words and actions.
When we are dealing with the human element, it can be extraordinarily frustrating because we each have our own individual dreams and wishes and hopes and desires, and when we don’t get what we want, or what we feel we need, from other people, it can hurt us only if we allow it to. We are released from the pain and disappointment when we realise the want or need is an expectation which originates from our Ego. When we choose to change our way of thinking and to have no expectations, we cannot be disappointed. It is extraordinarily liberating knowing this.
I remind myself constantly of the fundamental values of my authentic Self and Spirit and the profound innate capacity for love we have within our hearts. Yet even so, I believe it is important to have no tolerance for being mistreated. We teach people how to treat us. We can do this with kindness, yet often our kindness is ignored or even worse yet, our kindness is sometimes perceived as a weakness. It is important to know that our kindness and compassion are strengths and it is important to believe in ourselves.
We all have a comfort zone and a tolerance level for how much we are willing to accept before we reach the point of no return and cross the Rubicon. I have little tolerance for negativity in my life, in words, in actions and in imagery. And when the source of the negative energy adversely impacts my life, refuses to compromise or to respect my boundaries, then I separate myself from the source. If it happens often enough and is serious enough, then the separation becomes permanent.
I consciously focus on what is good and what is right and what is true and I prefer to surround myself with like-minded people and to align myself with those who share common interests. Most of all I prefer to associate with those who truly care and have my best interests at heart. It is a mutual respect and a gentle kindness which is an ideal I seek to attain with those I love and care for. I am extraordinarily altruistic and am dismayed with how insensitive and self-centred some people can be, especially so when that person is a member of my family or within my circle of friends.
Our peace comes from within and unless we allow it, our inner peace is unaffected by another’s actions or words. We create our own happiness.
It is important to remind myself every day that I must take care to act and not to react, for this response comes from the Ego.
It is so hard to do. After all, I am just a human girl, and I have feelings just like everyone else, and anger is as much a natural human emotion as Love.
My affirmations for the day:
My heart is at peace today.
I am so fortunate to have the power of choice and I am blessed with the freedom to love and be loved, and to create and recreate my life as I am discovering the intent of my Spirit.
Life is a dream and the quality of my dream depends upon whether my mind or my spirit is in control of my life. My Spirit is in control of my life, and it is through this power of intent I seek my spiritual ascension in acute awareness of the illusionary nature of reality.
Words are powerful and Thoughts become Form.
The universe is like a mirror and it is always listening.
Whatever we project is returned to us because that which we focus on, we give power to.
May we all be blessed, and especially for those I love as I seek healing from misunderstandings, as I search for inner wisdom and divinity in my own unique way, and open my heart to my spiritual guidance in my journey to be my authentic Self, as I seek my own truth with the courage to go deep within myself to transform my life, may it transform others as well. For that is one of my greatest wishes, is to be a motivator, and have a beneficial and positive effect on the lives of others.

Aloha dearest Rosie, mahalo for your sweet compassion and kindness.
“May all good things come to you at this Sacred Time.
Like a Light cast upon still waters, may the shining eyes of the Angel of Avalon seek you, surround you and fill you with the wonder and beauty of your heart .
May life respond to you in graceful encounter, and may all your days be winged in the eternal moment.
May the gifts you give to the world be starlit…
may they also be small and dear as well as grand.
May you leave no stone unturned in your pursuit of Truth.
May you come to love yourself as you seek to love and embrace others.
May you be at peace in your heart and allow sacred space to others so that they may find peace in your smile, your touch and your loving presence.” ~ (Author – Maia Christianne)

If I may quote your words, you wrote above: ” ... one of my greatest wishes, is to be a motivator, and have a beneficial and positive effect on the lives of others.”
Sharon … that is refreshing to hear, in a world where many people are only out for personal gain at the expense of others.
I hope lots of people read this article of yours. I haven’t quoted anything, but I have put a link to this page in my Journal.

Right there…
Loved that moment… “before we reach the point of no return and cross the Rubicon”
sometimes this moment is far away..and othes is biting our heels like a venom serpent.
I know you are talking from your soul…and what you say is the ideal. We are to know our reactions and deeds…yes. Mostly is a whish, and a pathway, sometimes…mostly frecuently, obstacled with huge stones of frustrations, and ego vices…but all the same, we are souls and in that pot of cooking emotions…we are wild, we are there… weak and responding.
I will listen to your words..as I listen to the breeth..soothing..soothing.
