My lovely niece Katie trots Tilly ….my sister inlaws beautifull 3 year old Gypsy Cob across the beach at Minerstown, co Down. Tilly at only 3 and still being schooled , is of the sweetist nature of any horse. We all had our little trot round with her, but not over doing it … she is still a baby. She just loves her swim in the bay on these treat days.

The Gypsy Horse (USA), also known as a Gypsy Cob, Gypsy Vanner (USA and UK), Coloured Cob (UK)", is a horse breed. Members of the breed are usually of pinto coloring and have many draft characteristics, including heavy bone and abundant feathering on the lower legs. There is no exact known history of the Gypsy Cob. It is believed by some that the Gypsy Cobs are descended from a combination of Shires, Clydesdales, Friesians, and Dales Ponies with their origins in the Romani gypsy community of the United Kingdom. ( from Wiki ) I can’t help thinking there’s a bit of Irish Draft in there considering the connections with Ireland.
