A dry stone wall ..so called because no mortar or cement was used to bind the stones together. Photographed at the Flax Mill Dungiven. This may not be a traditional ‘Irish’ dry stone wall, given that it may have been built by Herman, of the Flax Mill, and maybe not.. perhaps it was there when Herman and Marion took over .. Never the less I found it somewhat appealing and had to photograph it ! Perhaps in a previous existence .. I was a dry stone wall! According to my wife .. I do have those qualitys at times.

Drystane (the Scottish version?) is always such a mass of textures & colors & endless nooks & crannies. It’s a technique for the highly observant! A grand take, Steve. You could do worse than be a drystone wall….
Lol !… yes they are known here in ‘Norn Iron’ as ‘drystane’ as well, but for most of the rest of the world to understand I had to put it in the Queens English. lol
