    Looks like a life-long friendship being forged there!

  • Yes! I think they eloped to Gretna after that!

    LOL Is it legal there then?

  • I think so, as long as the blacksmith does it!

    This is so totally adorable! Look at the affection on the dogs face:=} And the amazing thing is that it looks like the same bread of dog, I have, ’Terrier/Shaunezzer" They are such loving pets:=} Gorgoues capture:=}

  • Thank you for favouriting me Bella! LOL Yes they look totally together… the dog is a Standard Wire haired Dachshund… the humanoid is a Dubliner of the Guinness variety and related to me through drink!! ;-)

    that is a fantastic capture – you don’t see many standard wire-haired dacchies anywere! congratulations on the feature!

  • Thank you Gary, not so many as the smooths athough i have friends who breed and show them. I actually prefer them of all the varietys. this one was being looked after by my friend while its owner was in the ring.

    we breed the mini-wires (and mini-smooths) and i have to agree, i love the wires a tad more!

  • I like them all but the wires have something that appeals to me. My friends in Dublin have one that lives with the Afghans .. she rules the roost!

    i think the wires are the result of introducing a terrier centuries ago back in germany – they have a personality very different from the smooths and longs!

  • Yeah probably used for Badger and Fox hunting, going to ground, ( not into blood sports btw)

    yeah, the standards were bred for badgers (hence the name ‘dachs’) and the minis were bred for rabbit, hare etc., fabulous dogs!

  • They are great dogs!
