Few years ago, the present Mrs Oulgundog and meself had the pleasure of staying in the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle, Co Down, It was mid March, and woke to find a beautiful, bright and crisp March morning. Armed with the little Oylmpus, 2 massive pixie, I managed to capture lovely scenes of this beautiful area of Norn Iron.
The beach of Dundrum Bay and the two leisurely horse and riders enjoying the peace of early spring, with the town of Newcastle in the background and the forest of Tollymore rising to a snow capped Slieve Donard of the Mourne Mountains (sweep down to the sea). Slieve Donard is the highest mountain in ‘Norn Iron’ at nearly 2800 feet. All mountains in ‘Norn Iron’ are named after saints.. hence St Donard a follower of St Patrick.
