A shot into some of the rigging of the Netherlands tall ship the barque Europa. How would you know which rope helped control any of the thirty sails? Taken at the Albert dock during the Tall Ships race to Belfast. August 2009

I really like the old tall ships. I built a model of the “Cutty Shark” many years ago, only to have my sister knock it off the headboard of my bed. Needless to say, it got broken up pretty bad. So, i decided to build another one, this time my sister didn’t wait until it was finishe, she knocked it down about 3/4 of the way through the build. So, I never built anymore tall ships. I take that back, I built one more, it was a Spanish Gallion. I’m glad I wasn’t the person that had to climb all the way up to the crows nest. Bob ;)
Yeah i thing for old boats and have hundreds of pics dating back years of them, just don’t have the time to do anything with them. Just next to this one at the quay was the one ( name escapes me at the moment) they use for diabled people to sail…. you want to see those people with various disabilities and wheelchair bound both climbing and hoisted up those masts .. and loving it!
