I litterly live on the Fraser River of British Columbia, Canada’s, south coast in a floating home, very near where the great river enters the Pacific Ocean. Bald eagles are common to the area, and treasured by residents such as me. For several years, I have been photographing a pair of eagles that nest very close to where I live and where this image was captured. In the winter months, they seem to feed predominately on water birds, such as mallards. This poor duck was “scooped” from the water just in front of my home, where I captured the image on a Nikon D700 with a Nikon 600 mm lens and 1.4 teleconverter during a snow storm.
