Dynamics of Cycle Racing: The Steveston Sockeye Spin by

My photographic passion is shooting action, whether that is a bald eagle in flight, or an athlete in motion. This shot was captured in Steveston, a fishing/tourist neighbourhood in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, using a Nikon D700 and Nikkor 200-400 mm lens on a monopod (ISO 640, f5, 1/1600). The race was titled The Steveston Sockey Spin. Steveston was once a small fishing village on the Fraser River, made up mostly of Japanese immigrants. Today, it maintains its fishing importance, but is also a major tourist destination and place of interest with an abundance of restaurants and boutiques in a beautiful riverside setting. Sockeye salmon are an important fish in the Fraser River fishery and salmon migration. Thus the name of the race.

If I could live my life to live over, I would be a biologist because nature provides me with such joy and passion. I am able to capture and share my experiences in nature with good camera gear, and through the medium of RedBubble. I hope you enjoy my work capturing scenes from nature.
