I have seen them many times, but not on the same branch like this. Their nest is a tree away, and the female will be laying her eggs there very soon. The female is on the right in this image taken in late March, 2010, in Delta, British Columbia, Canada, a half hour away from downtown Vancouver. I captured the image on my Nikon D300 with my 600 mm lens and 1.4 teleconverter attached, mounted on a monopod, using these settings: ISO 500, manual WB, +0.33 EV, f5.6, 1/1000s.
