This is not really an attack, because the prey is already dead, killed and mostly eaten by this male bald eagle’s mate. But it looks like an attack, very similar to scenes I have witnessed but yet to photograph successfully. This eagle and its mate are estimated to be 15 years old. They have a nest in Delta, British Columbia, where they have successfully raised many nestlings, most recently two young eagles who still range in the vicinity.
