its like you told them to all stay still while you captured them …beautiful work …I often go to the birds scantuary here in the warm weather ….it must take a lot of patience to capture something that can move so swiftly

  • David Friederich replied

It worked, April! They stayed still while I captured the image. Thank you for your comment. I would love to visit your sanctuary.

So lovely David – there is a graceful elegance to this and the subdued colours suit it perfectly!

  • David Friederich replied

Holly, this is a good description for what I witnessed, “graceful elegance”. The season here provides the subdued tones. Thank you for your comment.

Another beautiful capture. Very elegant bird. Love their song they sing. They migrate through Wis around Nov. They rest at Alma WI before moving on. Excellent work.

  • David Friederich replied

I love their “trumpeting” too, Katseye…can’t say it is a song, though, even if it is music to my ears. Love your comment…Thank you.

Oh I really like this composition with the leader at the front of the flock! And the quality of the image looks so much like a painted piece, just beautiful!

  • David Friederich replied

Actually, the lead bird is a juvenile, with the two parents on top. I found the arrangement so human. Thank you Joanne for this comment and for all your wonderful comments on my work.
