Mountain Bird
Featured in All Animals Great and Small and Alphabet Soup (Letter J). Top 10 Challenge Winner in Alphabet Soup (Letter J)
The Grey Jay, AKA Canada Jay, Whiskey Jack, Camp Robber, is a jay that is a marvelous friend to hikers in the mountain meadows and paths of the highlands in western Canada. They have little fear of humans, which is so cool. They will even land on the hands and arms of those offering food. They are vulnerable, though, because they trust us, and because they inhabit sensitive ecological areas. This image was captured in Strathcona Provincial Park, Vancouver Island, Canada.
Nikon D2Xs, 80-200 mm lens, ISO 400, F6.0, 1/800.
