These Least Sandpipers, the smallest of all sandpipers (14 cms long), are huddled together on the beach during a terrific wind storm on the east coast of Vancouver Island off Canada’s west coast. Image captured on a Nikon D300, Nikon 600 mm lens on a Gitzo 1325 tripod, F6.3. 1/800 sec, ISO 250.

They are so sweet, yes! And as you point out, their camouflage is fabulous. In fact, with the naked eye, they are almost invisible.
