Snake on the Beach
While on vacation in the Gulf Islands in British Columbia, I came across this garter snake on the beach. I have never seen a snake on the beach before, so this was a unique experience. You can see the barnicles on the rock.

Snake on the Beach belongs to the following groups:
Animal Kingdom, Beach Art, Pacific Northwest Art and Wild Nature Photography & WritingAvailable for sale as Cards, Matted Prints, Mounted Prints and Framed Prints

Nice shot David, a snake on the beach is better than a snake in the grass. At least on the beach you can see him.

He looks like a happy little fellow! I’ve spent many years roaming the beaches of the western coast and i’ve never encountered a snake on the beach.. a wonderful find and so very well captured :)

Garter snakes are completely harmless snakes common in British Columbia. Thank you for you comment Jacqi.

Thanks Lina. I think so too, but some people could not even look at it. I am curious about fear of snakes. I love them.

Glad you like it Barry.

Me too! I was very surprised. I know garter snakes eat small fish. The beach on Bedwell Harbour is rich with life. Do you think it could be feeding here? Thank you for you comment.

David!!
I love them too!! I would see them in India in the baskets ..the cobras.. they looked so sad to be with these men all day long… I felt so sorry for them.. Amazing capabilities!! You have brought me closer in the last few shoots via Insects.. which I have a hard time warming up too only because ‘THEY LOVE ME!’ the biting ones anyway.. but these snakes are gorgeous and mysterious!! Is that the Eve in me David? :=D

It was mid-afternoon. My friend thought he was probably just sunning on the rocks.

I saw his brother sunning near a log in the north Georgia mountains. I love this.

He said he had relatives in the American south. I guess you met him, LOL. Thank you for the comment.
