This beautiful male rufous hummingbird was captured in low light against a wonderful background. All his fabulous colours are visible. This image was captured at Campbell River, on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

This image was captured last May, but I was new on RB, and had a small watchlist. The image didn’t receive much coverage, yet I think it is worthy of attention. So I moved it to the front of my portfolio. I am glad you like it, Elaine.

He was wondering what that strange creature was with big black nose in the middle of his face. Capturing this little guy was a total thrill. He was so small that it took a 600 mm lens from about 12 ft. to get this. Thank you for your comment, Holly.
