My bare feet touched the moisten cool sand of the beautiful seashore,
And my nostrils inhaled the ocean’s odor that calmed my heart’s core.
A smile greeted my pale face that had lost the color of the sun’s rays,
As my troubled emotions floated above my brain with the wave’s display.
I was alone in my inner world wondering if there was someone else for me,
There were no other human bodies wandering about as far as I could see.
My half naked body was at peace for the time being as my eyes gazed afar,
Something sparkled beneath the salty water as my feet touched a fish star.
With both hands I picked up the starfish that was big and appeared so alone,
So I made friends with the ocean creature as we both spoke as if on the phone.
I said, “Hello there beautiful lady, my name is Oscar and who may you be?”
My mind could hear the voice of the wind inside the starfish as I set if free.
Wavering in the powerful tide it soon made its way down to the ocean’s floor,
I entered the water as I walked in deeper hoping to find a secret door.
The mighty currents pulled me down until I couldn’t breathe as I passed out,
I soon was talking in visions as I died for while until I heard a big shout.
I saw a starfish with wings floating over me and telling me to please return,
Suddenly I awoke as I laid on the hot sand on the beach as my skin burned.
A dead dry starfish was next to my face as I had a hard time trying to stand,
So I cried on my way home as I carried the sea creature on my caring hands.
