Mysteries surround my imagination
until my eyes close for some sleep,
Then the illusions come to haunt me
and my emotions that are so deep.
I bury my head in my pillow
wanting so much to make them go far away,
Only to find myself lost in the darkness
until the sun awakes me up for the day.
As I sit up on my queen size bed I yawn
while my consciousness alerts me,
That the sunshine is calling my name
to let me know that for day I will be free.
I take a warm shower to awake from the ordeal
and to get ready for the day,
And as soon as I get all dressed up
I leave my nightmares where they should stay.
Gone are the dreams that frighten my night
as I close the door on my way out,
No more screams of terrible panic,
or the sounds of creatures that loudly shout.
I cross busy streets on my way to work
and I hear the honks of car horn sounds,
People are cussing at each other,
but nothing bothers me with them all around.
Inside the building are many offices
where human beings and machines are working,
But my mind is busy doing it’s job
and many eyes are watching as they are lurking.
Soon it is time to come home for the day
and I rush to punch out as I am so proud,
I leave my place of daily work and I go for a drink
so as to blend in with the crowd.
The hours pass while I am having fun
until I realize I have a home to return,
Then something ticks inside of my brain
reminding me that the night will be a concern.
