Just before the World Cup was held in the US in 1994, I had a project to develop a poster for a company that was trying to capitalize on the expected soccer euphoria. The client wanted a sample of what the final art was going to look like. This is one of the only examples I have of that art. I wish I’d saved the art itself, that went to the client and I never saw it again. I guess life has a way of evening things out, it turns out that the sample was a lot nicer than the poster itself. I didn’t seek this client, it was brought to me, so I never met them. Since I was employed full time at the time I didn’t have a flexible enough schedule to dedicate as much time to the poster as I did to the sample. These are the things that happen when you use middlemen.
