Artist's Description

The first prototype Northrop F-20A, 82-0062/N4416T, used as a company demonstrator, pictured taking off at Farnborough International 1984. Developed from the F-5E Tiger II and originally designated F-5G, the F-20 was meant to be a low-cost alternative to the F-16 Freedom Fighter but attracted no orders. Only three were completed and this one crashed almost exactly a month after the photo due to the pilot suffering excess G blackout.
