Rockwell B-1B Lancer 83-0065/DY by

Rockwell B-1B Lancer 83-0065 from the USAF 7th Bomb Wing makes a high speed pass at the RAF Mildenhall Air Fete in 1997 in full reheat and with wings at maximum sweep. This is scanned from a slide on Kodachrome 200 – quite a grainy film.

Gives it an unusual feel Colin. Nice one. – Ted

  • Thanks Ted! I think it’s got a gritty texture to it, that’s what makes it a bit strange. Guess you either like it or you don’t. It was a highly unusual day for the UK too. Clear blue sky, very warm but extremely low humidity – hence the absence of visible vortices and shockwaves even though the aircraft was travelling at 600mph+.
