The picture shows a 1945 Goodyear FG-1D Corsair, 88297/G-FGID, operated by the Fighter Collection turning in the sunshine at Duxford Flying Legends against a black cloud backdrop. The FG-1D was a “tweaked” version of the Chance Vought F4U built by Goodyear and this example has been painted as Corsair IV KD345 of the Royal Navy.

Isn’t this a Corsair? Great capture!

  • Thanks very much Anne! Yes it’s a Corsair – but an uncommon one. I’ve put details under description but they’re hidden with this new layout!
