23 Squadron Phantom FGR.2 XV466/E making a practice QRA take- off from the MA2 matting temporary runway at RAF Stanley, Falkland Islands in 1983, vapourising the surface cover of slush and water from the thawing snow. The aircraft carries a full combat warload of overload tanks, 4 sidewinder and 4 Skyflash missiles as well as the awesome SUU-23A 20mm gatling gun which starts firing at 100 rounds per second.
