Polikarpov I-15bis "Chaika" 4439 white 19 by

Extensively remanufectured, this Polikarpov I-15bis is the only airworthy example of this diminutive 1930s sesquiplane fighter remaining. It is possibly the only aircraft ever designed in prison (Nikolai Polikarpov had been jailed by Stalin for not working fast enough!). Pictured at Flying Legends in 2007, Chaika white 19 is operated by The Fighter Collection.
