My favourite WWII fighter. Largely because I was taught at school by the nephew Reginald G Mitchell, and he used to bring whole squadrons of individually painted spitfire models into school in walkers crisps boxes for us to look at. But even before that I was fascinated with both the Spitfire and the Hurricane.

  • Thanks a lot Glen and welcome aboard the "If it moves ……….. " group. Thanks for the fave too! I love the Spitfire. I hope it shows in my images of this beautiful but deadly work of art. I was once on a small team that took one completely apart, restored it and put it back together. It’s flying now! The first aircraft I actually sat in was a Hurricane though! My house master at school was a pilot of the Tsetse, the Mosquito with a 6 pounder gun up front. He was credited with destroying a U-boat. Keep the enthusiasm for warbirds alive!
