Dog and Butterfly

Dog and Butterfly

Kodie really didn’t like having the butterfly on him, but he was real good and let me get a few shots. She had eclosed earlier and wasn’t quite able to fly yet. I tried putting her on his head, but she keep crawling off! I liked this one the best.

Good dog Kodie! What a patient doggie! I need a butterfly like that! I always wanted to place one on one of my kids noses and get a shot!! Do you mean she was brand new,Thats why she could really fly yet?

  • Donna Adamski replied

Yes, brand new and exciting!! LOL Eclosing is what they call it when they come out of the chrysalis. When you get your Milkweed growing, they will come…you have to look under everything around to find the chrysalides and then watch closely, they will turn black when they are ready to come out. They will be sort of wet, so they have to dry before they can fly. Don’t touch the wings, they will crawl onto your fingers!! OK next lesson coming soon!! LOL Thanks Juju :)
