A loose-style study of a piece of driftwood. Original has been done in Indian Inks, watercolours and wax crayon on Bockingford Watercolour paper.
I created this original piece when I was about 18 or 19 years old while at art college. We weren’t allowed to use any brushes in this work. We just let inks and water-colours flow on the page and just control the direction of the flow by tilting the paper up and down with our hands while looking at a piece of driftwood on the table. When it was dry I then finished it by adding some extra texturing using wax crayon.
