New Shoes

New Shoes

Original has been executed in CHALK PASTEL on cartridge paper – my lovely new patent grey leather flat shoes. I used to love those shoes so much. In this image I’m sitting cross-legged looking down at my lovely new shoes with a sketchpad and a pack of pastels on my lap. Not such a nice carpet though. That was in a student flat from some years back in Limerick City, Ireland. ....Just don’t ask me how many years back, OK!
I executed this piece when I was about 22 years of age.
I made a sale of this art piece on 15th April 2009. (Anonymous buyer who bought 2 other pieces from my portflio) – Thank You. :~)

Okay, so this was taken in your student flat last week (flattery gets me everywhere) ....

Seriously, I like the unusual angle you have chosen … the carpet is also interesting.

  • Orla Cahill replied

Well Dave I really do wish this was just last week. If I was as young now as when I painted that…I’d feel very happy indeed. Time certainly flies.

Every woman knows…that when in doubt, go shoe shopping, they never let you down!! Love this painting! Time to go shopping for shoes and do another one since you sold the original (do you still have the shoes?) Congratulations on the sales.

  • Orla Cahill replied

Thank you Nancy. Well I still have the original in my sketchbook…but hopefully I will sell more prints here through RB. But I adore shoes and boots….I have so many but my favourites are always ‘red’ ones. I have a bit of an addiction for buying shoes.
