Great one Murray, did you take this one lately? The house sure has fallen down since I saw it last, I think it had the roof when I saw it last. This is the same one at Bills Gully is it?

Excellent! And you’re having a lot of fun with this, too… it’s obvious—don’t try to deny it! lol

  • Murray Wills replied

    Thanks Dayonda.
Yes I’m having a lot of fun. It’s a challenge to find some thing different and interesting to include in the star trail.

I have one star trail pic up, if you wanna check it ?? Let us know what you think ?
    On front page.

  • Murray Wills replied

The change of focus creates an interesting effect.
Have you tried a digital camera for star trails ?
My longest exposure using digital so far was aprox. 30 minutes, the average would be around 10 min.

Great job Murray. Interesting having the red streak in there. Do you know what star that is?

  • Murray Wills replied

    Thanks Kody.
The red star ? Possibly Betelgeuse (Alpha Orion)

Murray, this has a quality quite unlike anything I’ve ever seen in a startrail pic. The reds of Betelgeuse and Aldebaran and the lilac(!) of Sirius are particularly fascinating. Have you thought of putting these in the Astronomy group?

  • Murray Wills replied

Thanks Duncan. The colours never cease to amaze.
I will look into joining the Astronomy Group.

Nice, I,ve tried this once but I suck at shooting stars. But with your shooting info I may just go give it another try. I guess keeping an eye on the weather and moon would be essential, ehh. Neat photo. dp
