Eugene Emeralds' final game at Civic Stadium, opening ceremony. by

Eugene (OR) has one of the oldest active minor league stadiums (and in all of professional baseball – 70 years) in the United States. The Emeralds, single A short season minor league affiliate of the San Diego Padres, have played at Civic Stadium for the last 40 of those years.

This was the game’s opening ceremony, the Knights of Columbus provided the color guard. The game is between the Ems and the Salem-Keizer Volcanos.

I have been shooting photos for 50 years and find it as challenging now as when I first began as a kid. Thanks for stopping by… I do assignment work (writing and photography) or would love a well paying, full time, permanent gig!
