The Yaquina Head Lighthouse took the place of the old Yaquina Bay light years ago. It stands out on a huge promontory; the winds circle it hard and heavy most of the time. Almost 200 steps can be climbed to the top for the best views. with the climb and the wind, and sometimes fog, or light mist, it is always invigorating to visit.
