Ling Xia, a.k.a. Orchidpoet, aspired to be a poet in her grade school days, but the fate has taken her on a prolific career path, including intellectual property lawyer, literary agent, journalist/editor, writer, translator, and, last but not least, photographer.
Her photography works have been widely sold through art galleries and various international stock photo agencies. After the successful completion of her first abstract art show in Steam Whistle Art Gallery in Toronto, Canada in June 2007, she is currrently preparing for her second photography gallery show which will be held in Dallas, Texas, USA, at the end of 2007.

She was the literary agent and a co-translator for the Chinese version of “Two Innocents in Red China”, a book by the former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and the Hon. Jacques Hebert. She also translated a well-known Chinese photographer’s book on Paralympics into English. Always an avid learner and traveler, her journey continues in Canada and the world.
Ling is working as a lawyer and photographer in Toronto, Canada.
