My Christmas Tree by Darren Rooney

Photographic Prints

Available to buy on…

My favourite tree on Xmas eve 2011.

Had to abandon my wife at 11pm Xmas eve, just after we started wrapping and building presents for our 5 children to go out and get this shot.

I spent just over 2 hours out in the open with the camera, tripod, umbrella, trying to catch something special on this night. The lightning was all around me in a circle and when I looked straight up, the sky was totally clear.

An amazing experience, but oh, so scary.

Thanks very much for looking and I hope you enjoy my photos.
Please take a look at the others when you have time. :-)

Awesome tree of character and the lightning suits its mood so well. This is truly special!

  • The family call it ‘my tree’ now as I’m always looking for different ways to photograph it.
I think these lightning shots are going the be pretty hard to beat though.
