Gibbon River Valley, Yellowstone
A young bull elk keeps gaurd over two cows during the autumn rut. The Gibbon river Valley flows though the west central portion of Yellowstone Natonal Park. A week earlier this meadow was the site of great battles between mature waring bulls, but now, as the rut wains this adolescent bull persists with cows allready visited by his elders.
