WoW! Maggie, this is absolutely stunning, the clarity is just wonderful and the texture works perfectly with it. Hope you’re really proud of this one it’s a beauty!
Grinning like a mad grinning thing! Thanks, Sarah, for the tip about adjusting the hue/saturation of the texture. I couldn’t suss out the mask layer and painting with black and white and just used the Eraser brush to bring back the flower. I am quite pleased and your reaction means a lot. :o))
Maggie…this one is the best I have ever seen…it is truly outstanding!! I agree with Lissy..you should be incredibly proud of this one..a real corker of an image…!!!!!WOWSIE!!Hugs,Pxx
Thank you so much, Polly! I am very pleased with it. I photographed this poppy in my garden last year and without the textures it didn’t look right. I’m so glad to have discovered how to work with textures. Of course, thanks go to both you and Sarah for the advice and encouragement. :o))
Thank you, Renee, I’m so pleased you like it. :o))
I’m amazed at how you have such control over the eraser tool, I’m far too heavy handed with it! It really is a stunner and I’d fave it more than once if I could, well done Maggie cos at the end of the day it’s all your own work and you should be justly proud of it :))
It took me quite a few attempts with the Eraser tool to get right. I reduced the opacity to about 48%. At times you could see where I’d stopped and started and then I’d have to undo it. I learnt quickly to do it in short bursts. :o)
Maggie, I think everyone is just in awe of this image.. It is truly stunning and definitely one of your best. The color and clarity are just second to none… Congratulations on this one, Maggie..
Thanks, Katherine. :o) I almost didn’t post it, so glad I did now and that I found the ideal way to present this gorgeous poppy.
Wow this is beautiful . . great colour, detail and texture work :-)
Thank you, Yolanda, glad you like it! :o)
Maggie, this is absolutely exquisite! The petals slowly emerging are truly lyrical. Fabulous work!
Thank you, Carolyn! Yes, the petals are glorious as they are unfolding. When they are fully open the poppy stem straightens up.
So pretty. awesome capture and treatment. By the way, what was the tip?
Hi Connie, glad you like my poppy! :o)The tip is to adjust the colour of your texture to what you want it to be. Open the texture and click on the wee half filled circle in the Edit tab in Elements (down at the bottom) and it a pop-up box with options appears. Click on the option you want – in my case Hue and Saturation and alter the sliders until you get the colour on the texture that you want. Hope that helps. :o)
Awesome work with very beautiful colors. Love the background too
Thanks so much, Waistraasart. :o))
