Taken looking towards Mutton Bird Island near Port Campbell Victoria, March 2011. As I jumped the fence to shoot this I noticed dozens of tourists come and go at a distant yet popular lookout point, oblivious to the awesome view that could be had where I stood here.

Shot with a Canon 7D, 10-22mm lens, B+W polariser, Lee grads and 10 stop ND filter.

Shutter: 125 seconds
Aperture: f/11
ISO: 100

Superb Jason. It amazes me how people just do not see the obvious vantage points. Mind you it saves us photographers battling with them for a view like this!

  • Thanks John :) This is true, though this spot probably wasn’t too obvious – most people just tend not to bother to walk around and explore further.

Great image. That 10 stopper has added a terrific extra dimension. Fave for me.

  • Cheers James! Yep this trip gave me my first chances to give this thing a whirl – much more convenient than the nd400 screw ins!

Beautiful! Love that sweeping white water against the deep greens, really gives the feeling of deep water and the composition really gives it an ageless and immense feel. I think we were quite lucky to have those moody clouds that day :) It worked in our favour!

  • Thanks Shelbean. Yes, perhaps :)
